California State licensed psychologists seeking independent contractor work (locum tenens) enjoy working part time or full time where openings are available earning $120 to $150,000 at some more remote facilities $160,000* per year based on working 40 hours per week, fifty weeks per year

The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) has 33 state prisons that provide mental health services to thousands of inmates. The CDCR is unable to employ all the Psychologists necessary to meet this need and therefore utilizes contract services from several providers. National Locum Solutions, Inc. is one of the providers. The services provided by the independent contractor:

• Clinical psychological treatment programs
• Conduct assessments and psychological treatment procedures
• Conduct group and individual psychotherapy
• Case management
• Critical care, crisis intervention and suicide watch
• Apply psychological knowledge and techniques to inmates
• Candidate must have an empathetic understanding of patients of the State correctional facility; willingness to work in a State correctional facility; professional integrity; emotional stability; patience; alertness; tact; and keenness of observation.
• You will be reasonably expected to have and maintain sufficient strength, agility and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising your health and well-being or that of others.
